Richard Vandervoet

Richard Vandervoet has more than 15 years building brands for top-tier global consumer companies including Quaker Oats, RJR/Nabisco, Kraft and Shell. An accomplished corporate strategist, marketer with expertise in communications and marketing program design and execution, his vision has driven notable top-line sales, market share and EBITDA.

After Vandervoet received his MBA-Cum Laude from Thunderbird International
and BA- Honors in Consumer Research from the University of Texas in Austin, he moved into senior marketing roles with Quaker Oats, Kraft and RJR/Nabisco over a ten year period. He brought together strong creative, research and sales teams to achieve record profitability. This was accomplished through brand revitalization that included major shifts in strategy, operations, product design, packaging, marketing communications, and point-of-sale merchandising. With Shell Oil, from 2000-2004 in brand and new products management of Havoline ($52MM budget, P&L), Pennzoil and Quaker State, he was instrumental in ideation and introduction of the two most successful motor oils in the last 25 years – Pennzoil SUV Oil and Quaker State Winter Oil. In his role as Retail Channel Manager, he directed the National Account team, developing account specific promotions for key retailers including WAL-MART, SAM’s, Target, AutoZone, Advance Auto, O’Reilly and CSK. In 2004, he was recruited to revitalize the sales of the largest oil recycling company, Safety-Kleen, completing this assignment in late 2005 at which point he joined a marketing and communication firm, Marketing Dynamics.

A successful corporate career is complemented by10 years as a marketing communications agency principal. As a senior partner he acquired and managed communication programs (packaging, advertising, research, sales programs) for new ventures in energy, healthcare and telecommunications, including Wal-Mart, Exxon, Dr. Pepper, 7-11, Nissan, FedEx, Hertz, Continental Airlines, ATT, Humana, Kraft and Porsche. His international experience with leading Latin American companies including Bimbo, Corona, Bancomer, BanaMex, Cemex, FEMSA, Grupo Modelo, Pollo Campero and Gallo provides an understanding of the vast diverse Hispanic growth market.

He has served on the Board of Directors for Anita Martinez Ballet Folklorico, Trinity Ministry to Poor and the Dallas Opera Guild, headed efforts for the Special Olympics and served on the Dallas Museum of Arts Events Board.

Vandervoet has resided in South America and Europe and is a 20 year resident of Dallas.
